Reviews[]

In 2008, soundtrack editor, Daniel Schweiger stated the following:

"Shirley Walker gives a satirically bouncy spin to Rossini's "Barber of Seville", which contrasts with her lumbering oom-pah brass theme for the portly Penguin - a style that also serves swashbucklingly well for the Penguin's umbrella swordplay. Warner Bros. animation's most memorable mock opera since "The Rabbit of Seville" is then heard as Walker unleashes the full bombastic power of her orchestra to play the Penguin hurling all manner of props at Batman. Leave it to the Penguin to sum up the composer's deligtful classical pastiche with 'Who says Opera has to be boring?'"
