Reviews[]

In 2014, John Takis reviewed the soundtrack from Robin's Reckoning as part of the 3rd Volume of Original Soundtracks from Batman: The Animated Series.

Rather than oversaturate the episode with Walker's slinky, seductive Catwoman theme, Cohen adds an original melody: a waltzlike tune that ends with a suspended, unresolved cord. Played tentatively in cues such as those that bookend the episode, the new theme adds and additional layer of vulnerability and mystique to the character- but it also appears very effectively as an action motif during the pulse-pounding music for Batman and Selina's escape from the compound. The score is further augmented by a pitch-bending motif, laced with waterphone and sparkling percussion, that indicates the progression of the virus. Cohen's effors were honored in 1993 with his first Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Direction and Composition, although he and Shirley Walker (who had been nominated for Feat of Clay, Part II) lost to their WB colleague Steven Bramson for "Tiny Toons Adventures".
