Reviews[]

In 2014, John Takis reviewed the soundtrack from P.O.V. as part of the 3rd Volume of Original Soundtracks from Batman: The Animated Series.

Walker's score for "P.O.V." is one of her earlier contributions, as evidenced by her interpolation of the Elfman theme during the final action sequence (a practice that became less frequent as the series advanced). In keeping with the concept of a story examined from multiple angles, there is a robust amount of thematic development. The episode's main theme gets the most thorought workout - a powerhouse melody comprised of assertive, rising figures. It appears frequently, passed around the orchestra in a riot of melodic and rythmic variation. Walker aditionally develops several secondary ideas: a heavy theme emphasizing a descending minor third; a scrambling, scurrying action motif; and a sensitive, almost processional theme representing the cop's fall and redemption. By production number, this was Walker's earliest episode that does not feature a recurring villain - and if there were ever any doubts that an equal amount of care and attention would be lavished on such scores, she laid them to rest here.
