Reviews[]

In 2014, John Takis reviewed the soundtrack from Robin's Reckoning as part of the 3rd Volume of Original Soundtracks from Batman: The Animated Series.

The central idea of Carlos Rodriguez's score for Part I is a sequence of undulating, throbbing harmonies. Rodriguez actually wrote two versions of his cue for the scene where Dick's parents fall to their deaths- one purely orchestral, the other (written at the suggestion of Walker) blended with circus waltz source music. The producers settled on the former, although Eric Radomski asked for a few seconds of music to be dialed out immediately preceding the final anguished cord. The impact hit Bruce Timm especially hard in the editing room.

Bruce Timm stated the following for the "Cinefantastique Magazine":

"The combination of the music and the visuals was just so moving, I started weeping."

Composer Carlos Rodriguez has explained:

"They're two different keys, for the most part. I went for that not necessarily to represent Robin but the main conflict, which is the menace of Tony Zucco and the death of his [Robin's] parents. That emotional weight is what I ended up playing to."
